According to TechCrunch, a security flaw in Meta's support system allowed hackers to manipulate the AI chatbot into granting unauthorized access to multiple Instagram accounts, including high-profile and official pages. Attackers used VPNs and requested to add a new email address to the target account, tricking the chatbot into sending a verification code to the attacker's email. Feeding this verification code back to the bot revealed a password reset option, enabling hackers to change passwords without accessing the victim's primary email. Instagram stated that the security issue has been successfully resolved.
