What happened

Meta has released a comprehensive progress report for its 'One Step Ahead' educational campaign, which launched in May 2026 across the Asia-Pacific region. Developed in partnership with more than 25 government bodies, law enforcement agencies, and local organizations, the initiative aims to help internet users identify online scams and understand built-in platform security features. To date, the campaign has engaged over 300 million people, generating more than 1.3 billion impressions and 1.2 million clicks on educational resources. The program actively highlights critical protective tools—such as two-factor authentication (2FA), passkeys, and warning systems for suspicious links across WhatsApp and Instagram—helping both individual and business account holders safeguard their digital communications against increasingly sophisticated cyber threats.
